LG SMART PLAYER NOT FINDING MEDIA FILES HOW TO
You can access the contents of the USB drive through the television's menu system, and, like when connecting a USB drive to a computer, you have to learn how to safely disconnect the drive from your television so that you don't lose any information. Once connected, you can view videos or pictures or listen to music stored on the USB drive. There is a video on the allcast website show how there app works - LG TVs have two USB ports on the back of the television you can use to connect an external USB drive. This basically means you play them on your phone but these apps let to display them on your smart TV.

I also just suggested on your other thread that if you have smart tv or even the likes of a smart tv device (chromecast, roku box, amazon fire stick/tv) that you could always 'cast' the video files from you phone to smart tv or device using a casting app - like AllCast, LocalCast, BubbleUPnP.

You could try using software like DVDFab DVD Creator to create a proper video dvd disc that will play on your dvd player. I'm going to guess you just put the videos file on the dvd disc as if it were a data disc which is why the dvd player wont play them. When you said you made a DVD, how did you actually make it?

Imagine having to wipe your computer's hard drive and re-installing Windows from scratch every time you wanted to play a video format it didn't recognise and you get some idea of how difficult it can be with TVs etc.Īlthough I remain optimistic because both the dvds I've made plus the videos on the pendrive both work on my work computer plus on a laptop I've tried, so hopefully it'll be the same on a Tablet.^_^
LG SMART PLAYER NOT FINDING MEDIA FILES UPDATE
In fact it may require a complete update of the firmware to allow a device to support the new video format. And there is usually no way to load additional codecs to cope with other formats. Which usually means they only support a small selection of common video formats. Very often the video codecs are hard coded into the firmware of the device. However DVD players playing Data disks and TVs playing files off USB drives are a very different matter. It is relatively easy for a computer to play most formats as you can in most cases load a suitable codec to decode the file. There are a myriad of different video formats. The videos I've saved on my pendrive work on a laptop, but not on the tv, and the same with videos I've copied to a DVD disc.they play fine on any computer or laptop, but nothing on a DVD player. I haven't changed the format etc, and so I thought that because I'd be using the format that the phone had been installed with, then that particular format would then work on anything else.( i thought it'd be the same as having a universal type etc) Thanks for the replies, though I'm still none the wiser! I'm basically a real technophobe.Īll I've done is simply record some family videos on my galaxy grand phone and i had thought it'd be all very basic.
